CCU Baseball continued their preseason in Phoenix on Monday, Feb. 6
th as they lost to Arizona Christian University 9-4. The Cougs played well, keeping the lead for most of the game, until the Firestorm exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Starting for blue and gold was Junior #28
Joey Loranger who threw five innings, allowing only three hits, one run, while striking out four. When Loranger came out of the game, the Cougs were holding a 2-1 lead, and looking strong.

Christian scored their first two runs in the top of the fifth.
Scotty Wright scored off a
Luke Bote single, followed by
Cooper Gray on a
Bryce Brenton sac fly. CCU held the lead until the seventh inning where ACU gained momentum and scored eight runs off five hits. The Cougs tried their best in the next frame to stage a comeback, but couldn't find an answer for the Firestorm's big seventh inning,
