Cougars No Match for Air Force

Colorado Christian University Baseball had the opportunity to play the Air Force Academy on Wednesday afternoon in Colorado Springs, CO.  The D1 opponent proved to be tough as the Cougars fell 22-5.  Despite the scoreboard, the Cougars had several individual highlights:
 
  • Senior first baseman Dillon Mctague went 3-4 at the plate with 1 run
  • Senior catcher Austin Maltby hit a home run, went 2-4, with 2 runs and 3 RBI
  • Junior pitcher Justin Kiedinger threw a scoreless inning in the 4th
  • Junior pitcher Evan Fink gave up one unearned run through 1 1/3 innings
  • Freshman shortstop JC Barrios hit a triple, RBI

Both teams utilized their bullpens.  The Cougars had 9 pitchers in the game and 13 position players.  CCU will continue their regular conference season this weekend at home vs Metro State.  The Cougars will be honoring their 14 seniors on Saturday, April 28th.
