LAKEWOOD, CO – On Saturday, Sept. 28 the Colorado Christian athletics department will welcome the newest members of its Hall of Fame class.
The department will honor with 2007-08 Men's Basketball team as well as former Cross Country runner Regan Mullen.
"We are excited to honor these former Colorado Christian athletes in a few weeks," said athletics director Brian Wall. "This team and individual worked extremely hard to gain the success they earned and it is incumbent upon us to recognize them."
2007-08 Men's Basketball Team
During the season the squad earned a handful of individual honors while becoming the first team in school history to earned a berth in to the NCAA Division II postseason.
As a team they compiled an 18-win season with a 13-6 mark in RMAC contests which earned them a tie for the league's East Division Championship. They reached the championship game of the RMAC postseason tournament before falling. The Cougars earned an at-large spot into the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
Individually Brian Stamer was named the conference's Player of the Year while David Daniels was recognized as the league's Coach of the Year. In addition to his RMAC accolades, Stamer was selected as an all-region player. Stamer has already earned individual induction into the school's athletic Hall of Fame.
Rory Morgan, Justin Neuhaus and Nate Caulk also earned all-conference honors from the squad. Neuhaus is also an individual member of the Hall of Fame.
Regan Mullen
Although she only competed in a Cougar uniform for two seasons, she was left quite a mark on the program.
Mullen earned All-American status after the 2012 season. She finished 22nd at the NCAA Division II National Championships to earn the accolade. At the time Mullen was just the third NCAA All-American in school history.
The native of Colorado Springs was named the RMAC Freshman of the Year as well that season. She finish seventh at the conference championship; still the best finish by a Colorado Christian runner at the event. Mullen bettered her effort at the NCAA South Central Region Championships by placing fifth.
She earned all-conference and all-region honors in each of the two seasons she competed. In 2013 she was selected to compete for Team USA at the 2013 NACAC Cross Country Championship in Jamaica.
Mullen completed her degree at Colorado Christian in 2014. Currently she is working towards her PhD in Sports Administration, Sports Organization Behavior, Team Leadership at the University of Northern Colorado.
