DENVER – After a shuffling of the schedule, Colorado Christian made the quick 10 mile trip to Regis for a rare conference doubleheader on a Wednesday.
Unfortunately for the Cougars, bats went silent as Regis swept the twinbill using strong pitching and a solid offense.
GAME ONE: Regis 13, Colorado Christian 1
The Rangers scored two runs in the first, third and fourth innings and never looked back.
Regis' starting pitcher Justin Kleinsorge limited the Cougars to just one run and three hits in his six innings of work. He also struck on nine
Colorado Christian's lone run came in the sixth inning when Frankie Shearn III crossed the plate on a ground out by Caden Walton.
GAME TWO: Regis 12, Colorado Christian 4
In the seven inning game the Cougars started well as they posted a pair of runs in the first inning. A Jordan Medina ground out scored Caden Walton, then a Connor Marschall single to left field scored Wyatt Crenshaw.
However, the home team responded by scoring three runs in their half of the first frame then three more in the third stanza. Regis put the game away with a six-run sixth inning.
Colorado Christian completed the scoring with two more runs in the seventh inning.
Three Regis hurlers limited the Cougars to five hits while striking out 10.
