COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- Colorado Christian took the short trip south on Friday to take on UCCS in their fifth conference matchup of the year. An early first half hole was too much to overcome in the end as the Mountain Lions hung on for a 72-64 win.
Makenna Bodette tried to rally her team back, leading the offense with 11 points and adding five rebounds to go with it. Mykaela Moore chipped in 10 points, while Agnes Paul and Dasiya Jones pulled down eight rebounds apiece to lead the defense. Guards Nicole Bowlin, Victoria Perez and Moore all had three assists to facilitate the scoring.Â
CCU dominated from the bench, outsourcing their opponent 34-7. The hosts asserted themselves in the paint, scoring 44 points to the Cougars 26. Colorado Christian finished with a slim edge in second chance points nine to seven.Â
Despite outscoring their opponent by seven points in the second half, a first quarter hole was too much to overcome as CCU fell in the end 72-64.Â
Colorado Christian will now return home to take on Regis on December 17 at 5 p.m. MST before taking a break for the Holidays.
