CHADRON, NE- The Cougars closed out their season in Nebraska on Saturday at Chadron State. Colorado Christian made sure they ended the season the right way, picking up a convincing 79-66 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED- The Cougars quickly took control with baskets from Lourdes Gonzalez, Agnes Paul and Jordyn Brown. The defense was tight throughout the quarter though as the two teams headed to the second tied at 12.
Gonzalez converted a three-point play to tie it at 15, and a Brown three had the offense rolling yet again. Sydney Daniels converted a three-point play of her own, and the Cougars pushed the lead to 39-32 at the break.
Mia Guest connected from deep to get the third quarter underway, and Paul put in a layup to put her team ahead 46-41. Tessa Hauser got involved with a layup, and a Christen Curry three put the Cougars ahead 13. The lead stood at 57-48 heading to the final frame.
Sophia Karasinski hit a jumper, and Gonzalez got another layup to go as she continued an excellent night. Gonzalez took over down the stretch, scoring seven straight points to close out her career at Colorado Christian the right way as the Cougars claimed victory 79-66.
COUGARS LEADERS:
Lourdes Gonzalez dropped 19 points and 16 rebounds to finish with a double-double. Agnes Paul pulled down 11 rebounds and Sydney Daniels dished out six assists.
