CCU Falls on the Road at Black Hills State

SPEARFISH, S.D.- Colorado Christian headed to Black Hills State for a Thursday matchup with the RMAC's second ranked team. After a strong first half that was evenly contested, the Yellow Jackets pulled away in the second period for a 73-60 victory. 

Makenna Bodette led the Cougars with 17 points on the night, while Agnes Paul poured in 13 points. Maggie Hutka pulled down seven rebounds followed by Bodette with six. Paul led the effort in facilitating three assists on the evening. 

The rebound battle was very even with the hosts holding a slight advantage 38-36. CCU had the edge in second chance points with an 11-8 tally. Each team recorded 10 points off turnovers apiece. After a four point lead at the end of the first quarter, CCU trailed by five at the end of the initial half before being slightly edged in the second half as the hosts took the win 73-60. 

Up next for the Cougars is a trip to Nebraska to take on Chadron State on January 31st at 5:30 p.m. MST.
