LAKEWOOD, CO- From player to coach, Sydney Priddy has continually experienced the faithfulness of the Lord. With her background of playing at CCU to now Assistant Coach, any player that has crossed paths with Coach Priddy has been filled with both love and respect. But there's another person who has had a strong impact on the players, and especially Priddy, someone who has been a constant source of inspiration, guidance, and support throughout her journey.

Mila, the daughter of Priddy and her husband Riley, at almost one years old has impacted every person who has had the chance to meet her, and that comes from her extraordinary story that reveals the Lord's faithfulness and how He works in miraculous ways.

Priddy and her husband were overjoyed to learn they were expecting their first child, as expanding their family was a dream they were eager to pursue. However, that excitement quickly faded after a doctor's appointment. During their 12-week genetic screening, Priddy was told that their baby was severely ill, with a high likelihood of not surviving to full term or facing significant abnormalities, putting her on a high-risk path. As further tests were conducted, more concerning defects were discovered that would severely affect their child's life, ultimately, leading doctors to suggest that Priddy and her husband consider the option of termination.

Priddy made clear "this was not something that we were going to pursue. God is a God of miracles." Sydney and her husband continued to pray for her as well as asking the people in their lives to pray for their daughter's health as well.

Later in her pregnancy, during a cardiology appointment, a scan showed that her daughter had no heart defects, and her heart was completely normal. Additionally, blood work showed that the baby was now at a low risk of having any genetic disorders. However, their daughter was diagnosed with IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), a condition where the baby does not grow at the expected rate in the womb. This diagnosis left Priddy and her husband bracing for the worst, fearing they might lose their daughter.

Despite the hardships, Priddy knew that the Lord was teaching her it was okay to wrestle with Him throughout this challenging season but also giving her the peace they needed to handle the difficult circumstances. "After finding out all the different diagnoses, the Lord was teaching me about surrendering to Him with everything. My husband and I decided we could fully trust in the Lord's plan for her life, because she is His daughter first and He loves her more than we can comprehend."

On January 27th, 2024, Priddy was admitted in the hospital to welcome their little girl into the world, and while this should have been the best day of their lives, Priddy and her husband were forced to be prepared for the worst and be ready to say goodbye to someone they had not yet had the chance to meet.

Priddy went on to deliver her baby girl and was shocked to discover that she was completely healthy, and all of her genetic testing came back normal, which is extremely rare. "After she was born, I was still afraid because of the unknown, but thankful that the Lord answered our prayers and brought us our girl. After we found out she was perfectly healthy, I felt like we could finally stop holding our breath. I could not help but praise God for the miracle He performed".

"The intimacy I had with the Lord throughout this whole experience was unlike anything I have experienced before. How he revealed Himself to my husband and I, are things I used to think the Lord didn't do anymore, but He still does," Priddy explained when reflecting on her relationship with the Lord after this experience. "This situation was so out of our hands, there was nothing we could do besides pray, and He proved to be the great physician and that we are able to depend on Him."

Mila, whose name means "miracle," defied all odds with just a 0.001% chance of survival, entering the world perfectly healthy and meeting every milestone along the way. Her life is a testament to God's unwavering faithfulness and serves as a living reminder of His grace and power. Today, she is not only the heart of Priddy's family but also a symbol of hope and resilience within the CCU Women's Basketball program. Her story continues to inspire those around her, proving that even in the most uncertain times, miracles are still possible.
