Cougars Fall at Florida Southern College

LAKELAND, FL- Colorado Christian continued play on Thursday as they took on Florida Southern College. The offense was improved but CCU would fall in the end 87-50.

A 7-0 run from the Mocs to start the game put the Cougars behind early, but they rallied back with a pair of Elise Grosdidier layups and an Addison Wragge jumper. A Jordon Heckert jumper and three-pointer by Elise cut the deficit to 17-13 at the end of the first quarter.

Elise continued her strong night with a layup to start the second period as CCU drew within two at 17-15. Unfortunately, that was the closest the Cougars would get the rest of the contest as the Mocs began to pull away from there to take a 43-22 lead to halftime.

Hayley Luther and Heckert drilled jumpers to start the second half, while Amaya Felix went on a 3-0 run with a basket and free throw. The hosts would take a 69-36 lead to the final quarter of play.

Ezra Simonich hit a three-pointer in the fourth while Nicole Burns connected on a jumper and free throw to close the contest as the Cougars suffered an 87-50 setback.

Grosdidier paced the offense with 14 points while Angelina Kohlwaies pulled down a team high four rebounds. Heckert spread the ball around with three assists, and Felix notched three steals.

Colorado Christian now heads to Texas Thanksgiving week to take on St. Edwards on November 24 at 4:30 p.m. MST.
