LAKEWOOD, CO- Colorado Christian closed their season on Saturday afternoon with a home matchup against MSU Denver. Seniors Victoria Perez, Dasiya Jones, Mia Guest and Maggie Phipps were honored before the game for their contributions to the program. CCU followed the senior celebration with a strong performance to take down the Roadrunners 66-53 and end the year on a high note.

Guest got the scoring started with an early jumper, and Perez put her team ahead with a layup. Jones got a layup to go to tie things at 9-9 while a Jenna Kendall three-pointer sent the teams to the second quarter of a defensive battle tied 14-14.

Jones came out and nailed a three to start the second, and Hayley Luther and Elise Grosdidier nailed jumpers to put their team in front. A three-point play from Perez put CCU ahead 26-19, and a late three from Perez saw the hosts take a strong 31-22 lead to halftime.

Nicole Bowlin made a quick layup to start the third, and an Elise jumper saw the lead grow to 13. Josie Grosdidier got in on the scoring with a layup and Perez scored to put her team up 42-28. The Roadrunners made a late push with a few three-pointers to bring the score to 45-40 with a quarter to go.

With the lead at just five, CCU went on a run to start the fourth and assert their advantage. A luther layup and several 2-2 trips to the free throw line pushed the lead back to 13. The Cougars stayed consistent on offense as they kept their lead at double digits nearly the whole way. Jones began to heat up from beyond the arc, hitting a pair of three-pointers. Luther closed the scoring with a pair of free throws to ice a 66-53 victory on senior day.
