Women Go Unranked to 12th in the Nation, Men Jump Two Spots to 18th

Lakewood, CO – The USTFCCCA released its latest Division II rankings this week, with the women making a massive jump to No. 12 in the nation after previously being unranked. The men also moved up two spots, climbing to No. 18 nationally.

The women had a fantastic week, taking the Lewis Crossover title in dominant fashion. Led by Junior Lorelei Daugherty, the top 5 finished a staggering #5, 13, 14, 17, and 25th place. This lead to a team win with 74 total points, beating the closest opponent by 45 points. A dominant and impressive performance beating 5 ranked opponents. The Cougars continue to work to return to the national meet.

The men similarly came off a strong performance at the Lewis Crossover, coming in 5th as a team overall. Led by Senior Zach Vance, the Cougars had 4 PR's, beating 5 ranked opponents, the top 5 all finishing in the top 50. Besting several non-regional opponents to work for the at-large bid for nationals, the Cougars gear up for a strong post season push after a historical year last year.

The Cougars are back in action on October 24th at the UCCS XC Open, the last regular season meet before the RMAC Championships and the Regional race.
