GOLDEN, CO- Colorado Christian took on Mines on Saturday in game two of their series in Golden. An offensive onslaught did the Cougars in as the hosts rolled to an 18-6 run-rule victory.
Mines got single runs in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead before a solo homer from
Cade Lacy in the fourth quelled the momentum. The Orediggers responded with two runs in the fourth before they put things out of reach in a monster fifth.
The hosts exploded for 10 runs in the decisive fifth inning, going up 15-1. The Cougars mounted a rally in the sixth as an error led to two runs coming across the plate.
Lukas Hinze doubled in another run, and
Nathan Mensen plated two more to make it 15-6. Mines answered with three runs in the sixth and finished off the run-rule win 18-6.

Gavin Gomez saw action on the mound, while Mensen paced the offense with a pair of RBI.
The series will be decided in the rubber match on March 1 at 12 p.m. MST at Jim Darden Field in Golden.
