Cougars Downed in Friday Afternoon Tilt with Rangers

LAKEWOOD, CO- Colorado Christian and Regis continued their series at All Star Park on Friday afternoon. The wind was blowing strong in Lakewood, and the Rangers took advantage of that and beat the Cougars in game two of the series 21-6.

Regis started off where they left off yesterday and were hot with their bats, scoring five runs with a two-run home run and more hits. CCU did their best to respond back by putting up a two-run home run of their own from a Mason Hagel-Pitt rocket to right field.

After another run from the Rangers came in, Gregory Rangel got in on the action with another two-run home run, cutting the lead slightly 4-6. It was not a good day to be an outfielder for either team, as the wind punched everything more to the right than normal, helping the Rangers help extend their lead over CCU 15-4 after three innings. Rangel got himself another home run, this time a solo shot to right center. Regis would take control of the rest of the game, tallying more runs across home plate to win the second game of the series 21-6.

Gregory Rangel saw himself get two home runs on the day, and he now leads the team in home runs with five so far this season.

The Cougars and Rangers will close out their weekend series tomorrow, April 4, with a double header with the first game scheduled for 1 p.m. and game two at 4 p.m. MDT.
