SHERIDAN, WY- Colorado Christian opened the 2026-2027 season at the Travis Roy Memorial at Powderhorn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyoming the past three days. Led by a strong effort all around and a breakout performance from freshman Jude Robbins, CCU claimed the victory by four strokes over RMAC rivals Mines to start the year off with a win. 

ROUND ONE 
Robbins got off to an excellent start in his first collegiate round of golf, firing an impressive 69 with seven birdies. Another freshman Avery Jones was stellar with a 71 on four birdies, while Lance Christensen Jr. and Elijah Johnson carded 75s. Bradley Mulder shot a 76, and Cameron Cantillana closed with a 79. 

ROUND TWO
Robbins was even better in the second round, shooting a tremendous bogey free round with five birdies for a 67. Johnson and Mulder improved with a pair of 70s, while Christensen Jr. fired an even par 72. Jones and Cantillana closed with 77s as CCU headed into the final round with the lead. 

ROUND THREE
Robbins had another three birdies in the final round as he finished with a 74 to take second place overall in his first collegiate tournament. Christensen Jr. closed strong with a 73 on four birdies to tie for 10th, and a 76 from Johnson gave him a tie for 12th. A 74 from Jones and a 76 from Mulder tied the teammates in 16th, and Cantillana shot a 74 to tie for 41st. Johnson had a pair of eagles on two par 5s, while Cantillana had an eagle on the par 4 18th. 

Overall, the Cougars shot a total of 864 (290, 279, 295) to claim the victory in their first tournament of the year.

CCU will look to make it two wins in a row at the San Juan Intercollegiate at Bridges Golf and Country Club September 21-22 in Montrose, Colorado.
