Beyond the Jersey
  • INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE & WHY | "Obstacles do not have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it." - Michael Jordan
In both sport and life, we are faced with many difficulties. In golf, one can have bad shots and bad breaks. In life, one can have many other difficulties. Slayton believes that “no matter what obstacle I face, I want to be resilient, do my best, never give up, and strive for success in every circumstance”.
  • FAVORITE CCU MOMENT & WHY | Slayton’s favorite CCU moment was when the golf team won the Dennis Rose Invitational Tournament.
  • WHY CCU? | Slayton chose CCU because it had a strong Christian foundation and has a great Business department.
  • OUTSIDE OF SPORTS | Outside of golf, Slayton I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. I enjoy casual rounds of golf with friends outside of competition.
  • FAMILY TIES | His parents are David and Amy Slayton and Slayton has a sister, Emma Miller.
  • POST COLLEGE DREAMS | After college, Slayton hopes to help people recognize financial freedom by opening my own financial and wealth advisor firm.
