From Pueblo West, Colorado, Caitie's passion for softball led her to Lamar Community College and later to Colorado Christian University, where she left a dominant mark. Throughout her time at both institutions, she showcased her versatility as a player, excelling behind the plate, in the outfield, and in the batter's box. Her impact was felt not only through her skills but also through her leadership on the field.
As a part of the covid graduating class, it marked a significant milestone in her collegiate career, and her passion for softball allowed her to extend her journey at Colorado Christian University for one more year. The decision was influenced by the university's enriching atmosphere and the storied success of its softball program. It was within this context that Caitie found her calling beyond playing – coaching. Under the guidance of the highly esteemed Coach Larry, she began her coaching journey as a graduate assistant for the 2021-2022 season and quickly ascended to the role of an official assistant coach in July of 2022.Â
During her tenure as a coach at CCU, Caitie witnessed the remarkable achievements of the 2022 and 2023 teams, both securing the RMAC Championship and progressing to the postseason. These triumphs stand as a testament to her influence and dedication to nurturing talent.
Away from the field, Caitie's life is enriched by her twin brother, Cole, who has ventured into the world of real estate. Her family, including her parents Jerry and Dawn McCarthy, boasts an entrepreneurial spirit, overseeing multiple successful businesses / rental properties.Â
Caitie Dykman's story embodies dedication, versatility, and an unwavering commitment to both playing and shaping the future of softball. Her journey continues to inspire and uplift those fortunate enough to cross her path.
