Beyond the Jersey
  • INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE & WHY | Psalms 118:8, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” Ramos says, “Trusting in the Lord and leaning upon His understanding is the single most important way we can demonstrate our surrender and faith to him. Man will fail because we are fallen, but the Lord continues to bless and fulfill all voids in our lives.”
  • FAVORITE CCU MOMENT & WHY | One of Ramos’ favorite moments at CCU is when the baseball team took 3 out of 4 games in the series against Colorado Mesa in the 2022 season. He says, It demonstrated all the hard work and ups and downs we had endured as a team all year. To be able to finish the year in that fashion was very promising to the 2023 season.”
  • OUTSIDE OF SPORTS | Ramos enjoys training for baseball and living a healthy lifestyle. He also enjoys outdoor activities. Ramos says there’s nothing like embracing the Lord’s Creation and participating in the ways of life he had originally designed us for.
  • WHY CCU? | Ramos chose CCU because it was an opportunity to expand on his faith and play in an open and welcoming atmosphere. Ramos says, “We have great leaders and men of God in our coaching staff, and I have grown more in these past 2 years than I have in my entire life. I thank God immensely for this opportunity.”
  • FAMILY TIES | Ramos is a first-generation college student and will be the first to earn a degree at a university. His mother, Stacy Ramos, works in Real Estate, Human Resources for the University of California Riverside, and a third-party HR business establishing policies and services for small businesses. His father, Jorge Ramos, works for a contractor of NPL Construction as a foreman for his crew in pipe fitting main gas lines.
  • POST COLLEGE DREAMS | “After college, Plan A is to play professional baseball, but after that, wherever the Lord takes me. I would love to be a strength and conditioning coach, a hitting coach, and a baseball coach in general, impacting the lives of the younger generation with the information I have learned throughout my entire career in the sport.”
