Coach Jess is moving into her second year with the Cougars this 2017-2018 season. In her first season (2016-2017), Coach Jess served in a graduate assistant role, but moved into the full-time assistant coach position in November 2017.Â
Prior to CCU Coach Jones spent one year as an assistant coach and assistant athletic director at Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland, Kansas. During her time at Northwest Tech, she assisted in recruiting, player development, team travel, and compliance.
During the 2013-2014 season Jones served as an assistant coach at Metro State University in Denver, Colorado, where she assisted with recruiting, player development, social media, and travel. She also served as an assistant coach and the head junior varsity coach at Berthoud High School for three years and helped BHS qualify for the state tournament every season, including two Sweet 16 appearances.
As a student-athlete, Jones played two seasons at MSU Denver before suffering a career-ending knee injury. The Colorado native earned her bachelor's degree from Metro State in 2012 in sport industry operations with minors in marketing and coaching. She also earned the Presidential Academic Scholarship and was a founding member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes group at Metro State.Â
