- INSPIRATIONAL PERSON OR QUOTE & WHY | "That's ok. It was an L I was supposed to take." - Sydney Jones
- FAVORITE CCU MOMENT & WHY | “Too many favorite moments. One of my favorites is definitely from a XC meet my freshman year. Half the team was at a meet in Chicago and the rest of us were in Kansas. I had a pretty good race until I fell down a very steep hill so that was a bummer. I was definitely not happy about it in the moment, but it's good to be humbled. The reason this meet was one of my favorites was because of the guys race after ours. All of the men ran outstandingly, one of our guys ran a really good time, another who had planned to break 28 minutes ended up breaking 27 minutes, and a guy who had been trying to break 30 broke it by like 15 seconds. It was so exciting and seeing them all embrace and cry together in excitement of seeing all their hard work finally starting to pay off was one of the best moments I got to see. It was super inspiring and encouraging and such a beautiful picture of the family our team is.”
- OUTSIDE OF SPORTS | Outside of sports, Hernandez enjoys hanging out with friends, watch movies/shows, play games, spend endless hours at the caf with the team, play the guitar, and take naps.”
- WHY DID YOU CHOOSE CCU | “I wanted to go to a private Christian school, and I love Colorado. I heard about the school from a couple people who went to my high school and ended up running at CCU, and I knew I wanted to come here. Talked with Poag and to my surprise, he said there was a spot on the team for me if I wanted it. After a lot of prayer, I had a lot of peace that CCU was where God was leading me to.”
- FAMILY TIES | “My grandpa ran xc/tf at Cal Poly. My dad is a pastor at my home church, my mom works at my high school, my older sister Rebekah works with graphics and social media for my home church, my older brother Josh works at Garmin, and my little brother Caleb goes to Missouri State and plays in the marching band.”
- POST COLLEGE DREAMS | “That's what I'm stuck on. Send help. At some point, I want to pursue children's and family ministry in a church and possibly also missions.”
