Year-by-Year 
  • 2024 | King competed at the 2024 Gage McSpadden XC Invite running a personal best and took 1st place. She finished 11th at the Lewis Crossover, 15th at Regionals, and 25th at the NCAA National Championships gaining the title All American. This is King's first XC All American title, but third title overall.
  • 2023 | King competed in four meets this cross country season. With a time of 21:37.8 in the 6k, she took 14th place at the Lewis Crossover. She also ran the 6k at NCAA Regionals with a 14th place finish with a personal best time of 21:03.0. 
  • 2022 | Placed 10th in the Lewis Crossover (22:01.2) … Competed in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships … Ran in the NCAA Division II South Central Region Cross Country Championships. 
  • 2021 | Took 7th place in the 2021 Roadrunners Invitational (22:20.6) … Placed 12th at the Lewis Crossover (22:33.3) … Finished 26th in the NCAA Division II South Central Region Cross Country Championships (21:33.8) … Took 3rd place at the JK Gold Classic (18:20.9).

  • FAVORITE CCU MOMENT & WHY | “The women’s XC team making nationals for the first time in 2021! It was a collective team effort and we all rallied really hard at the end of the race to move up the field. I remember us all finishing and smiling and crying. It was really special. An “us” moment.”
  • OUTSIDE OF SPORTS | Outside of sports, King enjoys spending time with her friends while cooking, painting, and exploring the beauty of Colorado.
  • WHY DID YOU CHOOSE CCU | “I was drawn to the community of the team. It is such a warm and welcoming place and I have made my best friends here.”
  • FAMILY TIES |Shannon is the daughter of Donovan and Karen King. 
  • POST COLLEGE DREAMS | After college, King would like to become a counselor or continue her education to be a sports psychologist.
