Joel Ashor has worked in the athletic department of Colorado Christian University for five years, serving in various roles across the communications efforts. In his early career, Joel assisted CCU athletics as a Broadcaster, leaning into his talents as an on-air, live commentator. Joel officially stepped into his role of Sports Information Director in interim capacity in November 2021, and began as the departments' official Sports Information Director at the start of 2022. Joel regularly manages the CCU athletic website and manages all 13 program's communications efforts and game day operations. While Joel remains the lead on game management, his journalistic knack brings a unique talent for broadcasting and game day recaps to the department.

Joel attended Biola University in La Mirada, CA, earning his Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Biblical Studies in 2020. During his undergraduate years, Joel worked in his university's athletic department in the Sports Information office. Joel's hands-on experience in college athletics was complimented by his position as the Sports Editor at Biola's campus-wide newspaper.

Originally from the central coast of California, Joel moved to the Denver area in 2020. He resides in Parker, CO with his wife Nicki, where they enjoy hiking, paddle boarding and volunteering in their local church.

When asked which Bible verse or character Joel lives by he shared, “David is a good example of an imperfect person that God used to do powerful things. He always had a prayerful spirit and always came back to Christ.”

If he could share one word of advice, he charges others to “love others well, love others like Christ.”
