Colorado Christian Volleyball got their eighth-straight win Friday night, a big 3-0 quarterfinal victory over Houghton College at the 2014 NCCAA National Tournament. One of only four teams left in the tournament, CCU will battle Southern Wesleyan Saturday morning for a spot in the championship match.

Against Houghton, the Cougars turned in another solid effort to win 26-24, 25-15, 25-19. Once again, junior
Taylor Sturms sparked the Christian attack, igniting for 15 kills on a .462 effort to help the blue and gold to a 49-kill, .283% team showing.
Jackie Arnold added eight kills from the right side (.333), while
Kaylee Pierce chipped in with 12. CCU bettered the offensive effort of their opponents by 17 kills.

Sturms also led the Cougars in the back row, amassing 19 digs and three aces in Christian's 54-dig, seven-ace effort. With four games done at the National Tournament, Sturms has totaled 49 digs (3.77 per game), 67 kills (5.15 per game), and a .351 attack percentage.
Setters
Jordan Carswell and
Jordan Kessler combined for 40 assists in the win.

 Now 26-13 on the year, the 2014 Cougars hold the mark for most wins in Colorado Christian University history. They'll square off against a 27-9 SWU squad tomorrow at 10am MST. Southern Wesleyan earned a trip to the semis after sweeping Oakland City Friday night.
