CCU Men's Soccer opened their home season with a loss Friday, slipping against Lubbock Christian (5-1) to fall to 0-3 on the young year.
Â
Though the Cougars played an active and aggressive match, LCU dominated possessions, shots and scoring to earn the win. The Chaps totaled 24 shots to Christian's ten, and notched six corner kicks compared to two from the home team. The game's first goal came in the opening half, when Lubbock Christian's Mbongeni Ndlovu snuck one past Cougar keeper
Brandon Eide at the 20:52 mark. The Chaps scored another almost 20 minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
Â
Another three LCU shots found the back of the Colorado Christian net before the blue and gold would muster an answer.
Blake Goodale's goal at 75:21 provided a lift but wasn't enough.
Â
Eide finished the match with eight saves after facing 13 shots on goal.

CCU will remain home through the weekend, set to play Upper Iowa University Sunday at Trailblazer.
