CCU Men's Basketball played Fort Lewis College on Friday, Jan. 8
th and came out with a huge win 80-73. This game had all the fans out of their seats in it's final minutes.

The first half went as expected when you are going against a team that is 11-1. FLC was able to keep a consistent ten-point lead the entire 20 minutes, but CCU was never out of the game.

There were some big plays made by center
Dominique Josephs on offense who had two dunks and six points.
Ty McGee led with seven points and four rebounds for CCU. The Cougars ran a controlled offense and was able to hit on open shots. They beat Fort Lewis in field goals and three pointers going 50% and 43% compared to FLC's 46% and 39%. Blue and gold were down 39-32 going into the second half.

The second half started off slow and continued with the same pace as the first half. The Skyhawks were up about ten points and CCU struggled to close the gap. It wasn't until halfway through at 10:30 where the Cougars gained momentum. It all started with a huge dunk by
Ty McGee and then a three from
Zach McLemore that started the run.

Even though there were several turnovers by both teams in this two minute period (10-8 min), CCU was able to execute off of them making the score 57-60 with six minutes left.
Andre Lane contributed five 3-pointers that were monumental in this half. Two of his shots were scored back to back at 4 minutes and put CCU up 65-64 at 3:40.

After this comeback Christian ran towards the finish line and sealed the deal with another shot from downtown by Lane. The Cougars ended the night shooting 56% from the field, 63% from downtown, and 75% from the line.

Game changer
Andre Lane scored 20 points and went 6-8 3FG and 7-10 FG.
Zach McLemore made plays happen with seven assists and 12 points.
Ty McGee led defensively with seven rebounds and 14 points on the night.

It was a huge team effort with a lot of contribution from the CCU bench. Coach Lubbers said "Really good team win. We had several great contributions from a variety of guys up and down the bench including our Assistant Coaches. Tomorrow is another big test against a very good Adams State team."

The Cougars will be back at the CCU Event Center on January 9
th playing Adams State University. Tip-off is set for 7 PM.
