The Cougars had the hot hand on Saturday night as they were able to defeat Northwest Nazarene University by the final score of 103-84. Each starter for CCU finished the game with double figures in points, as they were on fire from the opening tip until the final buzzer.

It was a slow start for Colorado Christian as they spotted the Crusaders the first seven points of the game. They rebounded quickly, and took the lead with eight and a half minutes remaining in the first half and never looked back. In the reminder of the first half, CCU outscored NNU 26-10 to take a commanding 51-34 lead at the break.

The scoring barrage continued in the second half. In fact, they got stronger as the game progressed shooting a robust 61% (17-28) from the field in the second, compared to 51% (20-39) in the first. Christian was deadly from long range as well, shooting 56% (13-23) in the game from downtown.

Head coach
Kevin Lubbers commented after the game, "We had a much better flow offensively tonight and we were able to attack them well from the opening tip on. We still have a lot of things to sharpen up and improve on, so we need a few good days of practice leading up to our Florida trip next week."

Leading the way on offense was another strong game from
Ty McGee, who earned his first double-double of the season scoring 24 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Dimitri Saliba also had a great game pouring in 19 points, while also leading the team in assists with seven.
Brett Brady finished with 14 points while nailing 4-8 from beyond the arc.
