It was a day that was dominated by the pitching staffs, but in the end CCU and Adams State ended up splitting the doubleheader as CCU won the first game by a score of 3-1, and Adams won the second game 1-0.

Ryan Erazo took the mound in game one and was able to earn his third victory of the season. Erazo threw 7 2/3
rd innings allowing just one run before
Mike Marlar came in to record the final four outs to secure the 3-1 victory for the Cougars. It was Marlar's fifth save of the season.

Offensively, Colorado Christian started the game off in a big way and after only two hitters in the first inning, they were able to take a 2-0 lead over the Grizzlies.
Brandon Hesselberg led the inning off with a double.
Jerry Gallegos stepped in the box next and promptly delivered for the team as he hit a homerun which put CCU in front and they never looked back.

The second game was another masterful pitching performance from CCU starter
Matt Weaver, but he was handed the tough luck loss as Adams State was able to win by a final score of 1-0. Weaver threw a complete game (seven innings) allowing just three hits, one run, and struck out eight batters.

CCU and Adams will meet again on Friday for another doubleheader to finish out their four game series. The first game will begin at 12PM MST, and the game will be hosted at Runyon Field in Pueblo, CO. Â Â
