It was a three game sweep for the Cougars over Black Hills State University. The third game was impromptu due to incoming weather in the Denver Metro area. CCU won (in order of play) 8-0, 13-1, and 8-3.

Game 1
The Cougs ran through their first game quickly, scoring eight runs, off eight hits, with seven RBI's. It was a clean game defensively for blue and gold with
Tana Feiner on the mound. Feiner only allowed one hit and struck out five Yellow Jackets. Black Hills made three errors in the field that gave up three unearned runs. Standing out at the plate was
Carly Perry and
Michaela Barr who both had two huge doubles down the left field line in the fifth inning, scoring two runs and getting two RBI's.

Game 2
Black Hills got the scoring started with a homer by third baseman Katie Campo in the top of the first frame. CCU then retaliated with a downpour of hits and runs in the bottom of the first getting 10 hits, 10 runs, and nine RBI's. Included in the first frame was a grand slam by first baseman
Carly Perry, running in Romero, Billante, and Farmer.
Kristina Billante would then have the second home run of the game in the bottom of the second. Billante would go 2-3, scoring three runs, and getting three RBI's. Â Christian would end the game with 14 hits, and 11 RBI's in five innings winning 13-1.
Tana Feiner (10-14) would take the win giving up one hit, one run, and striking out two.

Game 3
Game three was decided last minute on Friday afternoon. Both teams decided to fit it in because of incoming weather that would not allow them to play two on Saturday. The third game went seven innings and ended with a Cougar victory 8-3 having 11 hits, eight runs, and eight RBI's.
Amy Edison dominated the third game starting in the second inning with a double to left field running in
Letty Valenzuela. Edison would have another double to left field in the third running in
Hailey Riesenmy, and then Edison hit a home run to left field in the fifth.
Amy Edison went 3-3 with two runs and three RBI's.
Feiner would get take the third and final win for CCU on the mound improving to 11-14 on the season. Feiner allowed seven hits, and only two earned runs, striking out three.

Hanna Farmer went 7-10, scoring six runs, one RBI, and stealing four bases.

Carly Perry hit 3-8, but did damage with two doubles and one home run scoring three runs, and earning six RBI's.

CCU Softball improved to 15-32 on the season and 14-21 in the RMAC. The Cougs will be at Colorado School of Mines next weekend April 23
rd and 24
th for the last weekend of RMAC play.
