The Cougars will be opening conference play on their home court at the CCU Event Center in Lakewood, CO. Friday night's opponent is Colorado State University Pueblo who is 2-7 overall this season.

The Thunderwolves finished 11-16 in 2015, clenching the eighth seed in the 2015 RMAC Tournament. They were pushed out by #1 Colorado School of Mines in the quarterfinals. Pueblo was ranked eighth in the 2016 RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, and CCU one back at nine. Last season Christian went 2-0 against CSU-Pueblo. This preseason both CCU and CSUP competed against Texas A&M-Commerce. The Wolves lost in four sets, and the Cougs won in four.

On Saturday, Colo. Christian will play New Mexico Highlands University. The Cowgirls went 3-1 in the South Central Classic this preseason. In 2015 Highlands finished 7-21 putting them in the 15 spot. They were voted at #15 this season in the 2016 RMAC Coaches' Poll. Colorado Christian beat N.M. Highlands last season in four.
