The Cougars were out played by Westminster College on Friday night as they got beat 81-69. CCU's five game winning streak came to an end by the Griffin's strong game, and gave them their second loss in the RMAC.
Â
Westminster played clean in their home gym shooting 8% better than the Cougs at 50%. CCU stayed strong in the beginning taking the lead to 17 points when they lost it, and the Griffins took control of the game for good. Westminster did a lot of things good including utilizing their bench that scored 27 points. The Griffins post play was unstoppable with 38 points in the paint. Their largest lead on the Cougs was 14 points. Christian battled against Westminster, but came up short in the end.
Â
CCU senior
Brett Brady scored 22 points.
Dimitri Saliba had 17 points and seven rebounds,
Ty McGee 12 points and seven rebounds, and
Jacob Taylor scored 10. Â Leading the Cougs in assists was
Jonathan Stevens with four. Brady has become the Cougars top scorer this semester, and pushes the Cougars to compete at a higher level. Unfortunately tonight the whole squad was a little off, and the Griffins sharp shooting was detrimental.
