CCU Volleyball has not only claimed the #4 spot in the RMAC Conference Tournament, but will be hosting a quarterfinal match vs the #5 seed UCCS. The match is set for Tuesday Nov. 14
th at 7:00 PM in the CCU Event Center.
Last season the Cougars and the Mountain Lions faced-off against each other in the same round of playoffs at UCCS. At that time the Cougs were ranked #6 and UCCS #3 in the conference standings, both with records of 12-6 going into the tournament. UCCS pulled off the playoff win in four sets, ending the Cougars RMAC season. UCCS went on to lose to the tournament champions Colorado School of Mines in the semifinals.
This time around the tables have turned and CCU has gained the upper hand with two more wins in conference play at 14-4 and UCCS at 12-6. Come playoff season though, both teams know that anything can happen and everyone has a chance. In mid-October the two squads played each other on CCU's home court, where Colo. Christian came out victorious after a five-set battle 15-11.
