CCU Softball played in a non-conference double header vs Colorado State University Pueblo on Thursday afternoon. The Cougs dropped game one 9-13, but took game two 15-4.

The Cougs were beat early on in the first game as CSUP scored a total of eight runs by the second inning. The Thunderwolves had four doubles and a homer in the game, and scored three runs off of two of their double hits in the first and fifth innings. CCU's retaliation inning was the third. A couple Pueblo errors benefited the Cougs on base, and resulted in a six run frame. The score was 8-6 Pueblo. The Cougar defense could not hold the Thunderwolves down. CSUP went on to score another five runs in the fourth and fifth. There was a last effort in the sixth where Christian scored another run off an error and then
Charlotte Romero homered to right center (2 RBI).

Everything came together in the second game.
Kelsea Sweeney was on the mound for blue and gold and earned her fourth win this year at 4-0. The Cougars defense was agile and their hitters phenomenal. CCU was the first to score and kept Pueblo at zero until the fifth and final inning. Christian was up 15-0 until the Thunderwolves scored four, three off a double, and one more from a single to left field. The game ended from run rule as Colorado Christian took the win 15-4.

Notables:
- Designated hitter #88, Charlotte Romero ended the day with a home run, five RBI, two doubles, and two runs. (3-7)
- Short Stop #5, Stephanie Day hit 5-8 with three runs and three RBIs. She went 4-4 in game two.
- Catcher #6, Amy Edison had four runs and five RBIs, hitting an incredible 6-7 and going 3-3 in game two.

All the Cougars contributed to the victory, Â and will be back in action on Sunday vs the Thunderwolves. The double header will be hosted by CCU at Lakewood Park. Games are set for 12:00 and 2:00 PM.
