Three Lady Cougars paved the way to a solid victory on Friday night defeating Chadron State College 77-68. CCU's
Mikala Gordon,
Leisha Crawford, and
Alex Nelson all scored in double digits, with Gordon making 20 points, Crawford 19, and Nelson 17.

The game was close and the teams battled back and forth between possession and lead. It wasn't until the fourth quarter that the Cougars gained ground on Chadron through free throws. The Eagles had nine fouls in the 4
th quarter alone, and 21 in the entire game compared to the Cougs 12. This hurt Chadron in the end.

CSC was up on blue and gold 54-49 as the two teams faced off in the last 10 minutes. Christian's
Leisha Crawford banked a timely three pointer with eight minutes left that accelerated the Cougs momentum. Then with back-to-back fouls, CCU's
Haley Shaner and
Alex Nelson put Colo. Christian above CSC 57-56. Out of nowhere CCU's
Haley Shaner stepped up her game and made all eight of her points in the final minutes. She was unstoppable inside scoring three layups in a row.
Alex Nelson and
Mikala Gordon also utilized the poor defense under the hoop solidifying the win for Christian. CCU scored 13 points of free throws in the fourth quarter.

 The Cougs scored an amazing 28 points in the fourth as the Eagles crumbled on defense and only scored 14 points on offense. CCU Women's Basketball plays at Regis University on Saturday, Feb. 4
th at 5:00 PM.
