CCU Track & Field had several athletes place in the top at the NCCAA T&F National Championship in Shawnee, OK. This was the programs first ever appearance in the NCCAA post-season.
Hannah Struttmann and
Mandee Middleton were named NCCAA All-Americans as they took 2
nd and 3
rd place in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Struttmann ran 11:19.49 and Middleton was right behind her at 11:26.48.
Anna Spykstra finished 4
th in the 100 meter hurdle finals with a time of 15.83.
Cydne Hitchings placed 6
th in the 400 meter hurdle finals with a time of 1:07.69, and
Jonah Couture finished 8
th in the 400 meter hurdle finals at 57.10.
Head Coach
Jon Poag remarked "I was excited to see so many of our athletes competing in the finals at NCCAA Nationals. And to have two athletes achieve All American honors was pretty special. I am proud of the way everyone competed."
