Taking the win and their first conference match by storm, Colorado Christian Volleyball swept The ThunderWolves of Colorado State University Pueblo.
The scores of the match were of 25-17, 25-18, and 26-24 respectively.
Leading the Cougars offensively, junior middle blocker
Hope Baldrica hit an impressive .529 on the match, racking up ten kills with one error on seventeen attempts. Sophomore outside hitter
Cali Bahnsen was also a strong asset for The Cougars, bringing in eleven kills with three errors on thirty attempts.
Kylee Wurster gave out 39 assists, guiding the team to their total of 45 kills on the match. Wurster also added two kills and an ace to her name. Offensively The Cougars were consistent throughout each set, hitting .297, .256, and .149 as a team. The Cougars were strong behind the line, and finished the match with nine aces. Defensively, The Cougars had four blocks and a total of 59 digs. Sophomore libero
Mariela Gonzalez lead the team with 17 digs, followed closely by freshman outside hitter
Jacey Johnson with 14.
The Cougars continue their conference run tomorrow at 6pm, taking on The Cowgirls of New Mexico Highlands University. The Cowgirls come into the match with an overall record of 2-3, and 0-1 in conference play.
