Colorado Christian Volleyball grabbed the win in three sets vs South Dakota School of Mines and Tech on Friday night 25-18, 25-11, and 25-22. The first set started off rocky for Christian as SD Mines' defense was relentless, picking up everything that came over the net. The Cougs were receiving well, but having a tough time putting the ball away. The back and forth battle ended after both teams were tied at 10s and Christian was able to make strides on offense. The Cougs won the first set 25-18. In the second set CCU continued to dominate the game with some new faces on the court. Sophomore right side hitter
Hailey Ferguson came in and hit a .667%, adding a huge block on the pin. Also coming in off the bench was CCU freshman setter
Maddie Burns who led the team in offense for a few rotations. The Cougars won the second set 25-11. The third set was a close 25-22 victory for CCU even though they struggle on offense with 12 errors and a .021 team hitting percentage. The Hardrockers defense continued to pick up balls in the back row, but luckily Mines suffered a -.022% as a team on offense in the third giving the Cougs the upper hand.

Hope Baldrica continued to hit well with six kills off 11 attempts and only two errors at .364%. Libero
Mariela Gonzalez totaled 16 digs in the back and
Kylee Wurster made 31 assists with two aces. Colo. Christian will play against Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD on Saturday, Sept. 29
