CCU Men's Basketball lost to CSU-Pueblo 96-85 on Tuesday night giving them their sixth loss in a row. It was a heartbreaking defeat considering the Cougars second half comeback. The Cougs scored 54 points in the second half compared to Pueblo's 49. Unfortunately, their second-half style of play couldn't close the 16-point deficit from the first half where CCU was down 47-31.
The Cougars boasted five players in double digits with
Jeremiah Hanson leading the pack scoring 21 points. Jeremiah took his season high in shots vs the Thunderwolves going 8-20 FG and 5-12 3FG.
Stefan Hackethal totaled eight rebounds, which was the game high and his individual high for this season.
Isaiah Hanson and
Marcus Fager both went 5-8----Hanson with 17 points (7-10 FT) and Fager with 15 (5-5 FT).
CCU had 15 turnovers, giving Pueblo 16 points and the Cougs also struggled to defend the hoop inside as Pueblo had 44 points in the paint compared to the Cougars 30. Christian did outrebound the Thunderwolves 34-30 though helping them out in the second half.
