The Cougars closed out their regular season by honoring six seniors and hosting the Orediggers from Colorado School of Mines. Despite a 2-0 loss to the eventual RMAC regular season champions, the Cougars day was made after the game when they learned that they would get another shot at the Orediggers on Tuesday in the RMAC tournament. CCU qualified for the tournament after a multitude of scenarios fell in their favor with specific teams losing and owning a tie-breaker over Fort Lewis for the final slot in the post season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Â
The game was closer than the score suggests, with the Cougars keeping pace with the Orediggers in terms of possession. The difference in the match came in the final eight minutes of the first half. Both of Mines goals came late in the first half, the 39th and 40th minutes. The second half saw Colorado School of Mines get two more shots on goal but starting keeper
Ireland VanDyke stopped both shots and helped lead the Cougars to a second half shutout.
Â
REGULAR SEASON LEADERS:
- Amanda Lopez led the team in points (16) and goals (6) and split the lead in game winning goals (2) with Celeste Ruelas.
- Renee De La Torre led the team in assists (5)
- Stephanie Muchow led the team in shots (43) and shots on goal (24)
- Kennady McCullough received the teams first Player of the Week honors when she was voted the RMAC Defender of the Week.

VanDyke was also awarded with her second career Goalkeeper of the Week honor.

QUOTE: Head coach
Tammy McPherson is optimistic about the knowledge gained today, leading into Tuesday rematch, "We played a pretty good game, the goals they scored were great goals. I think the second one we probably could have stopped but I think it prepared us in a sense that, mentally, we definitely know we can hang with them and I think with some of the adjustments we made in the second half that'll help us going into to the game on Tuesday"
