The Cougars wrapped up their pre-season schedule today as they hosted the Dragons from Minnesota State University Moorhead. The Cougars dropped to 2-4 on the early season after the 61-74 loss at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Dragons built a halftime lead on the heels of shooting well at 40% from the field and helping themselves by nabbing six offensive rebounds. The Cougars dominated the paint in the first half, outscoring MSUM 12-4 inside the key. But the Dragons efficiency was too much to compete with in the first 20 minutes and the Cougars went into halftime trailing by 15 points.

The third quarter ended with the Cougars going on a 12-3 run to shrink the deficit to 11 points, but the Dragons would build the lead back up to 22 points midway through the fourth quarter, ultimately an amount too great for the Cougars to overcome.

GAME LEADERS: Jordan Baer led all scorers with 28 points, a new career record for the all-conference forward.  Marie Tsoungui notched stats in just about every category, leading the team with four assists and two blocks, including one she emphatically sent into the fifth row of the bleachers.

UP NEXT: The Cougars will open up their RMAC season on Saturday, December 1, against the Rangers of Regis University. The game will start at 5:00 pm on Saturday at the CCU Event Center.
