Jordan "Baers" Down on Rangers

Beginning their RMAC campaign with a win, Colorado Christian defeated the Regis Rangers with a final score of 78-64. The last time the Cougars defeated the Rangers was in 2015.

For the second weekend in a row Jordan Baer has broken her career high of points. Baer notched 28 last weekend against MSU Moorhead, and tonight scored 30 to break it again and lead the Cougars to victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Starting the game off strong, the Cougars outscored the Rangers 21-16 to take the lead. However Regis rallied back and went on an 11-0 run to start the second quarter. The Rangers had the advantage going into the locker rooms by 2, 36-34. At the half the Cougars were led by Jordan Baer and Davenport Brantley both with 9 apiece.

Coming into the second half, Colorado Christian jumped on a lead quick after just a few minutes. The team shut down the offense and had a 7 point lead going into the final quarter, with a score of 55-48.

Scoring the quarter high for both teams, the Cougars notched 23 points in the fourth quarter to close out the game. Their offense took off and was unable to be stopped. The team took advantage of the turnovers they forced from the Rangers, and ended up scoring 20 points off of turnovers. Regis was hot from behind the arc, scoring over half of their points from their 11 three pointers. But the versatile  Cougar offense prevailed and finished with a 14 point win, 78-64.

GAME LEADERS: Leading the Cougars yet again was Jordan Baer, landing an incredible 30 points and 7 rebounds. Also in the double digits was Davenport Brantley and Marie Tsoungui both bringin in 15. Tied with the high for rebounds with Baer was Sarah McGinley with 7 herself.

UP NEXT: The win gives the team an overall record of 3-4, and an RMAC record of 1-0. The Cougars next games will be another round at home as they host Chadron State on Friday, December 7th at 5pm followed by Metro State on December 8th.
