CCU Men's Basketball traveled to Colorado Springs to play their last game of the season against the Mountain Lions of UCCS. Unlike the first time the two teams met this season, the Cougars were unable to come out with the win. The final score of the game was in the Mountain Lions favor, 118 to 81.
The Mountain Lions set the tone with their lights out offense from the very beginning when they went on an 11 point run. The streak was broken from a drive up the middle from
Giles Gilliam coming off the bench to put the Cougars on the board.
At the half, the Cougars were down by 29.
The second half was more composed for the Cougars offensively, as they scored 50 to the Mountain Lions 58.
Leading CCU in his final game was senior
Isaiah Hanson, playing an incredible game with 28 points.
Jeremiah Hanson also was a large component in the Cougar offense, bringing in 18. The third and final player in double digits was
Justin Engesser with 11.
The loss gives CCU a record of 3-19 in conference play and 4-24 overall. Although the season was not what the Cougars were wanting, the team grew in many areas and came together with a completely new coaching staff and a lot of new faces on the court.
