The Cougars were dealt two tough losses on Saturday afternoon as they were defeated 6-0 and 4-2 vs Regis University. The two losses give the Cougars with an overall record of 31-6 and 21-3 in conference. With multiple starters out from injury, CCU's weekend series vs the Rangers was expected to be a challenge, and day one delivered.
The Cougs suffered their greatest defeat of the season in game one of the series. With no hits, no runs, and two errors, CCU was shut out and shut down. The Ranger's ace, Logan Losh was on the mound and threw a complete game with six strikeouts.
The Cougars pitching staff only allowed three earned runs off eight hits, with four strikeouts. CCU sophomore
Sarah Probasco threw all four strikeouts with only one earned run, no walks, and four hits.
Colorado Christian improved to five hits in game two and two runs. Notching both RBI in game two was second baseman
Carly Perry. Perry hit a sac fly in the fourth inning, tying the game 1-1 and scoring
Charlotte Romero. Then Perry hit a home run to left field in the top of the seventh inning with only one out and down by two runs 4-2 at this point. But the Cougars could not get anything going around the bases with a ground-out and a fly-out to end the game 4-2 Regis.
CCU freshman,
Jennifer Romero started game two and went 5.1 innings with one run off two hits and four strikeouts. Romero was no decision and
Kenzie Mattey took the loss as she gave up three runs off two hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Probasco made an appearance with the last batter in the bottom of the sixth ending in a ground-out.

th at Regis University. First pitch will be at 11:00 AM.
