LAKEWOOD, CO – The Cougars couldn't recover from a slow start.
Dixie State scored the game's first 13 points and never looked back en route to an 84-48 win against Colorado Christian on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The RMAC newcomers took a double figure lead less than five minutes into the contest and kept their lead greater than 13 points throughout the contest.
The Trailblazers largest lead came just before the final horn. Although Dixie State shot just over 35 percent during the first 20 minutes, they held the Cougars to four made shots. The teams went into the locker room with the Trailblazer in front 34-17.
Both teams shooting improved in the final stanza but the 17-point deficit at the intermission was too much for the Cougars to overcome. Dixie State nailed 60 percent of their field goal attempts while the home team hit 10 of their 28 attempts (35.7 percent).
