The Cougars finished out their weekend with another sweep, however this time they were on the other end of the deal.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Thunderwolves made their mark on the front line, with strong blocks across the net which kept the pressure on the Cougars. CSU Pueblo's strong defense ultimately won them the set, even though the Cougars had 14 kills to their 9. The Thunderwolves pulled away to win with a score of 25-21.
The Thunderwolves carried on their momentum from the win into the second set, starting off on a 4-0 run. The Cougars were unable to catch up and close the gap as the opposing offense stayed consistently strong, hitting a .429. CSU Pueblo took the second set with a score of 25-18.
The third set the Cougars started out stronger than before, but near the middle of the set the Thunderwolves offense got going once again and was unstoppable, notching their match high of 16 kills. Dealing Colorado Christian a sweep, CSU Pueblo won the final set 25-18 once again.
MATCH LEADERS: Leading the team on the offensive front was middle blocker Kristy Dick, who finished with 10 kills and a hitting average of .471. Leading on the defensive side was Mariela Gonzalez who had 13 digs throughout the match.
UP NEXT: The loss gives Colorado Christian an overall record of 6-9, and an RMAC record of 2-5. The Cougars will host Colorado Mesa and Western Colorado for their next round of games, beginning on Friday, October 11th at 7pm.
