LAKEWOOD, CO – Back home, Colorado Christian looked to get the second win of the season against Colorado School of Mines.
A close game throughout, Colorado School of Mines took a lead in the fourth quarter and didn't look back as they secured the win, 68-52.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cougars started the game with a strong first quarter, scoring 16 points and taking a seven point lead with 1:40 seconds left in the first quarter.
After Colorado School of Mines went on a quick run in the beginning of the second quarter to take the lead. The Cougars stayed close with Sacha Griffin scoring four points in the quarter in order to keep the Cougars within three points.
After halftime, the Orediggers and Cougars continued the battle, with no team getting more than a nine point lead in the quarter. Olivia Christy led the team with six points in the quarter.
The fourth quarter the Orediggers increased their lead as they scored 19 points in the quarter, to secure the win by a final of 68-52.
COUGAR LEADERS: Christy led the team with 12 points, Lourdes Gonzalez was right behind her with 11 points. Gonzalez also led the team with seven rebounds, Brookelyn Hurlbut had six rebounds. Sam Nunez led the team with three assists.
