ST. GEORGE, UT – The longest road trip of the season started this weekend for Colorado Christian.
A close game throughout a slow second half was the undoing for the Cougars as a halftime lead was not enough to get the win. Falling 61-54 to the Trailblazers.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cougars came out strong, scoring 18 in the first quarter and starting with solid defense that held Dixie State to only 11 points.
The second quarter went much like the first, with Colorado Christian scoring 20 points and heading into halftime with a 10 point lead and all the momentum.
The half came at the worst time for the Cougars as they second half they only scored 16 points in total, seven in the third and nine in the fourth. A 21 point fourth quarter for Dixie State was enough to seal the 54-61 victory.
COUGAR LEADERS: Lourdes Gonzalez led the team with 14 points. Brookelyn Hurlbut recorded seven rebounds. Marie Tsoungui had three assists to lead the team.
