SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The second game of the road trip took Colorado Christian to Salt Lake City to battle Westminster College.
A fast start burnt the Grizzlies out as they scored 15 in the first quarter but failed to reach double digits in the next two quarters, taking advantage of this the Griffins leapt out to a lead and didn't look back, winning 74-44.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The first quarter was a back and forth affair as the Cougars had a lead two separate times, and a tie game four times in the first.
Scoring only eight points in the second quarter the Cougars couldn't keep up with the Griffins and went into halftime down by 36-23.
The third quarter went similar to the second with the Cougars only scoring six points and Westminster scored 20 points.
The Cougars scored 15 points in the fourth quarter, the Griffins scored 18 points and secured the win 74-44.
COUGAR LEADERS: Brookelyn Hurlbut and Taylor Ferris scored eight points to lead the Cougars. Hurlbut and Marie Tsoungui both had seven rebounds. Brianna Pribble, Sam Nunez and Lourdes Gonzalez all had two assists.
