ALAMOSA, CO – Colorado Christian headed on their second long road trip in a row, heading down to Alamosa to battle against Adams Stat University.
A close game in the first quarter the Cougars pulled away and rolled to a 77-51 win over the Grizzlies.
HOW IT HAPPENED: After getting down early in the first the Cougars bounced back quickly scoring 11 in a row in the middle of the first. The 24 points in the first quarter were the most for the Cougars since December 6, against Chadron State.
The Cougars kept the foot on the gas in the second never allowing the Grizzlies within 10 points for the entire second quarter.
The Cougars continued to build momentum out of halftime, scoring 13 points in both the second and third quarter. The third quarter was the only quarter that the Grizzlies outscored the Cougars.
The Cougars put the game away in the fourth, scoring 27 points making sure that the Grizzlies could not get back into the game and in doing so moving back to .500 in conference play at 6-6.
COUGAR LEADERS: Brookelyn Hurlbut led the team with 15 points, Sam Nunez and Taylor Ferris also both had 13 points. Ferris, Hurlbut, and Lourdes Gonzalez all had six rebounds. Marie Tsoungui had six assists for the team.
