LAKEWOOD, CO – Colorado Christian battled against Adams State tonight looking to continue the winning weekend for the school.
A defensive battle, the Cougars controlled the game throughout and came away with the 52-44 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Colorado Christian jumped out to an early lead, getting a ten point lead seven minutes into the first quarter, sharp shooting and lock down defense led to the Cougars scoring 17 points and holding the Grizzlies to only seven points.
Adams State outscored the Cougars in the second quarter but the large lead built in the first quarter helped the Cougars out and they headed into the half up by 9.
The Cougars maintained the lead in the third quarter, holding the lead by at least eight points for most of the quarter and held a double digit lead for most of the quarter.
Both teams locked down defensively in the fourth quarter, with both teams only scoring eight points. The lead built in the first continued to help the Cougars, as they maintained a five point lead for the entire quarter.
COUGAR LEADERS: Marie Tsoungui led the team with 16 points, Lourdes Gonzalez had 11 rebounds and Olivia Christy led the team with four assists.
