DURANGO, CO – Day two of weekend number two in RMAC was underway today with Colorado Christian coming out with a big six inning win in game win, a late comeback by Fort Lewis notched a win in game two for the Skyhawk's.

COLORADO CHRISTIAN 10 – FORT LEWIS 0

The Cougars got the win with their first shutout of 2020. The offense backed the pitching and secured the win.

The Cougars got on the board in the third, Jamie Romero drove in two runs with a single to center field. Makena Martin followed that up with a single to left field bringing home Kacie Burger. Stephanie Day walked with the bases loaded to score the fourth run of the inning.

Martin hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning to bring to score to 5-0. In the sixth and final inning, Caitlyn McCarthy singled to center to score the first run of the sixth, Day singled to right bringing the next run of the inning and Piper Lujan finished to scoring barrage with a three run home run to center field.

Lujan had two hits and three RBI, Sami Edwards had a team high four hits. Romero and Day also had two RBI.

Jennifer Romero pitched all six innings only allowing two hits and striking out three.

COLORADO CHRISTIAN 3 – FORT LEWIS 4

After scoring early the Cougars offense sputtered and Fort Lewis snapped back to snag the win.

Sami Edwards stared the game in the first, with a single to left field that score Caitlyn McCarthy. Piper Lujan hit a sacrifice fly in the first to bring home Edwards. In the third Lujan hit a solo home run to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead.

Fort Lewis scored three times in the fifth and once in the sixth to take the lead and the win to split the weekend for the Cougars.

Jamie Romero had three hits, Piper Lujan had two hits including her fourth homerun of the weekend.

Sydney Rawlings started the game and pitched 4.2 innings with a strikeout.
