GUNNISON, CO – The second game of the road trip did not go Colorado Christian's way, as they fall to the Mountaineers 72-42.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cougars never led during the game and it started early in the first as Western Colorado got out to an early 4-0 lead and never looked back. After the Cougars cut the lead to three half way through the first the Mountaineers bounced back quickly, and increased the lead to double digits in the second quarter. Keeping the Cougars an arm's length away headed into the half up by 13.
The Cougars trailed by double digits the entire second half, Western Colorado went up by 20 points mid-way through the fourth and never looked back securing the 30-point win.
COUGAR LEADERS: Brookelyn Hurlbut led the team for the third straight game, scoring ten points. Riley Wade was second with nine points. Brooke Gumber led the Cougars with six rebounds.
